The Quality Engineering Tools & Automation Engineer (QETAE) is a member of the System Team who is responsible for defining and assisting in the selection and implementation of tooling to fulfil the test automation strategy for the ART. Collaborates with the RTE, Scrum Teams, and Release Coordinator, System Team etc. to understand the Tooling and Automation needs for the ART and provides oversight and guidance to the scrum teams throughout the testing process.


Attend and participate in routine sprint backlog grooming sessions as needed and participate in release planning.

Define, Implement and Execute Non-Functional Test Scenarios for each release.

Identify Tooling and Automation needs and work with the DevOps Engineer with respect to implementation.

Assist the scrum team testers in identifying tooling and automation needs and assist the System team with organizing and setting up test tooling.

Support and contribute to the ART Test Automation goals.

Clearly communicate issues to the scrum teams. Effectively collaborate with the scrum teams to address the identified issues.

Recommends scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms

Required Experience

5+ years of Software development/testing experience

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience in Computer Science

A track record in Non Functional Testing (ex: load, performance, stress).

Thorough understanding of test methods and processes.

Experience of test planning, execution and maintenance of automated test suites.

Experience of working within a Scaled Agile/Agile Scrum environment/team.

Experience of working in Linux/Unix environments.

Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team with a wide range of experience levels

Hands on experience with Automation tools such as Selenium, JMeter, Load UI, or Soap UI.

Working knowledge of Dev Ops tools like Chef or Jenkins.
